It's hard not to be inspired by stories like these.

They show that almost anyone can transform their professional and financial lives once they learn to code. The question is, where do you start?

You can Google plenty of how-to’s, but a lot of the “experts” who dole out advice aren’t even working software engineers.

A few years ago, I was right where you are today.

I wanted to become a software developer; I wanted to make a great income, be in-demand, and get paid to code.

But I had no idea how to make it happen.

I didn’t know where to start.

I had no college degree.

I had no previous experience with coding.

Could I actually learn to code from scratch?

Today, I’m a software engineer. I have my dream job, and yes, I finally get paid to code. How did I pull it off?

I created a learning plan that worked for me, learned to code, and broke into software development.

But it was a hard journey - I struggled. I struggled a lot. Too often, I felt lost, alone, unsure if I was learning the best language.

That’s where my new online course, “Learning to Code from Scratch” comes in. Even if you have some coding experience, this course will help you build a stronger foundation and you’ll learn proven strategies I researched and tested to learn to code both effectively and faster.

Who is this course for?

This course is for people at different stages of their coding journey.

Complete beginners who are interested in coding:

For total beginners, this course is presented as if you have no previous experience in the tech industry and you’re interested in learning how to code, but you haven’t done any coding yet. The part of the course that will benefit you most is the module on building your learning plan and deciding what path to take in tech. My hope is that you go from feeling overwhelmed on how to get started in tech, to feeling confident that you’ve decided on and are starting down a path that is perfect for you.

Beginners who have some experience, but need help moving forward:

Are you currently learning how to code through self-study or attending a bootcamp? If you’re doing either of these things but sometimes feeling stuck, or having trouble learning, then this course will give you strategies for learning more effectively and staying on track throughout your journey.

No matter where you are in your journey, I am ready to help guide you on your path to becoming a coder.

Here’s the course overview.

In Module 1, you will create your roadmap.

This roadmap is a step-by-step plan to go from wherever you are now to being a successful programmer. In this module you’ll go through exercises and prompts that will take you from not knowing where to get started, to having a concrete plan in front of you. When I say “learn to code from scratch,” your ultimate goal might be to become a professional software developer. Or you might want to learn to code so you can become a freelancer or build your own app. Whatever the goal is, the roadmap is about getting clear on that goal and then creating a path to achieve it.

Module 2, provides strategies for teaching yourself to code.

These strategies include training yourself to focus so you can learn to code efficiently. They also include problem-solving strategies and the strategy for how to learn a programming language. You’ll also start a 30-day coding challenge.
